About Holly

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist | Long Beach, CA

I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to feel misunderstood. Growing up, I spent years believing I was the problem — sometimes too much, or not enough. It took me a long time to unlearn that and to learn what healthy relationships look like and how to take care of myself.

That shift changed everything. It’s the shift I work toward with every client I see.

I’ve spent more than seven years working with teens, families, and adults in crisis, in life transition, and in the complicated in-between spaces. I opened my private practice in Long Beach because I wanted to do this work the way it deserves to be done: with full attention, genuine investment, and the kind of directness that people actually find helpful.

My approach isn’t one-size-fits-all. I draw on CBT, Internal Family Systems, Trauma-Focused CBT and Family Systems — and I adapt what I use to who’s in the room. What stays consistent is the relationship. I’m not going to hand you a worksheet and call it therapy. I’m going to engage, push back when it matters, and be the kind of presence you actually feel.

My vibe: I love my dog, sailing, reading and have learned the value of self care — whether it’s daily meditation, a quick breathing exercise, or just taking a moment for yourself.

Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — CBT helps you catch the thoughts that spiral and gives you real tools to interrupt them — not just talk about them.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) — IFS helps you meet the different parts of you — the one that shuts down, the one that acts out — so you can lead instead of just react.

Trauma-Focused CBT — TF-CBT gives you a structured way to process what happened, at a pace that doesn’t retraumatize you — so the past stops running your present.

Family Systems — Family Systems looks at the whole picture — the roles and patterns in your family, not just what’s “wrong” with you — so things finally start to make sense.
